该处为南垭口3号墩台，墩台是城墙向外凸出墙体部分，是用于三面防敌的建筑，大大增强了城墙的防御功能。该墩台位于皇华城西北部，临崖砌筑，侧控两溪，易守难攻，战略位置突出。
